Conscious Building works with you to create a satisfying, enjoyable and rewarding building experience. Our approach incorporates an awareness of both the external and internal aspects of construction which helps you to create a building which embodies your sense of home and which is financially, ecologically and aesthetically responsible.

To create a successful building experience you need to:

• Know what home means to you.
• Understand the process of building in its external and internal aspects.
• Know how to communicate with the building team.
• Attend diligently to the practical work (contracts, budgets, designs).
• Be aware of possible pitfalls, create realistic expectations and remain vigilant

Conscious Building offers an approach which will prepare and sustain you through the building process. Wherever you find yourself in the process, Conscious Building can help.

We offer five related services:

l. We have created a process, "Coming Home" TM, to help you become aware of what home means to you, for example:

• What is your felt understanding of home.
• How does your vision of home look, feel and smell.
• What configuration of spaces do you enjoy, feel comfortable in.
• Which height of ceiling feels best.
• What colors excite you, calm you, anger you.
• Does the play of light on surfaces intrigue you.
• From which directions do you prefer the light to enter.
• How do you want to move through the spaces.
• Do you want special rooms for reading, meditating, working.

Completing this process will prepare you to create or modify your plans be they for the creation of a new home or for the remodeling your present home. A written or oral summary of what is uncovered will be shared with you.

2. We offer educational presentations to teach you about the building process in both its inner and outer dimensions.

3. We offer solid guidance and support for the creation of realistic contracts, designs, effective communication and help with any problems that might arise.

4. We provide mediation if conflicts develop. We can help you move quickly to a mutually satisfying resolution and avoid deepening any misunderstanding which might lead to a dead end conversation, irreconcilable differences and lawsuits.

5. We provide consultation in all areas of the building process from site selection to Certificate of Occupancy.
